A new episode of the video podcast series produced at the studios of Manisa Celal Bayar University Faculty of Communication has met with viewers. Prof. Dr. Ali Demir, Coordinator of Sustainable Campuses at MCBU, was the guest of the program, which discussed the university’s sustainability vision and environmentally friendly projects.

In the podcast, the university’s visionary projects were addressed under the themes of “Sustainability” and “Green Campus,” while important assessments were made on environmental awareness, the efficient use of resources, and earthquake-resistant safe structures.

One of the most prominent topics in the program was Manisa Celal Bayar University’s rise in the GreenMetric Green Campus ranking, a global sustainability platform. In the broadcast, the university’s achievements at both national and international levels were detailed, and concrete environmentally friendly projects implemented across the campus were shared.

Particular attention was drawn to the Solar Energy Projects carried out on campus within the scope of protecting natural resources and transitioning to renewable energy: clean energy investments that reduce the campus’s carbon footprint; and Water Treatment and Rainwater Harvesting: infrastructure works aimed at the efficient use of water resources and the recovery of rainwater.

Emphasizing that sustainability is not limited only to the environment but also includes the creation of “safe living spaces,” Prof. Dr. Ali Demir also shared details of a large-scale study being conducted across Manisa. In the program, up-to-date information was shared with viewers about the earthquake risk analysis studies led by the university throughout the province, covering 15,000 buildings.

This special broadcast, prepared at the MCBU Faculty of Communication studios and hosted by Dean Prof. Dr. Meral Özçınar, once again demonstrated the university’s contributions both to global green campus goals and to social safety at the local level.
